I made a script for cropping presentation slides from a YouTube video using vibe-coding. Actually, I took screenshots of the video, and this script trims the slide images by automatically removing the background noise around them. AI is really convenient.

Unexplained fatigue

I felt tired all day today, but I couldn't find the reason why. I had things to do, but one of them moved slowly, and for the other, I couldn't see a clear goal. This means my brain's performance was not as good as I expected, and I felt irritated by my lack of progress today.

'80s underground culture

I started writing an essay about the 1980s Japanese subculture. I think Star Wars presented a simple structure: a powerful authority vs. the weak with good spirits. This story symbolized the anti-establishment feelings of people at that time. However, we now know that the world is too complex to be understood through such a simple lens.

Walk to the station

It was a fine day today, so I took a walk to the mall nearby for exercise. I wanted to take a break at a cafe there, but it was full. I walked further to the Central Station, which took another 20 minutes. Luckily, I was able to get a seat at a restaurant and had some wine and a small roast lamb dish.

Occult movement before '70s

I got a new book today. It's about the occult (for example, UFOs, ghosts, and monster stories) movement before the 1970s, when a big boom in Japanese subculture happened. I'm interested in the pre-boom era of this kind of subculture because the 70s movement was influenced by it.

Walk in piled snow

It was a fine day today, so I took a walk to the shopping mall nearby. It was a 20-minute walk. There was a lot of snow piled up on the roads, but people had cleared it from the pathways. I felt very grateful to them.

The same problem happened again this evening. This time, pouring hot water didn’t work. I had to brush the outside pipe and remove the snow by hand. The wind was cold and the snow was hitting me from the side, but I braved the weather and fixed it!

This cold morning, my gas stove beeped out and didn’t work. I thought my gas supply was cut off. I tried to turn on the gas cooktop, and confirmed there was no problem with the gas supply. So, I thought that the exhaust duct connected to the outside was blocked by snow. I poured hot water on it. It worked! The problem was solved!
